It's amazing that it takes only a few touches to refresh a room and give it a completely new look. You can easily dress up your dining table with crocheted placemats you made yourself.

Written Pattern
Size: The doily placemat measures approximately 28cm (11 inches) in diameter.
Skill Level: Easy to Intermediate
Materials Used:
- DK weight cotton acrylic blend yarn, size 3 - light. I used Nako Calico yarn. 35 grams ( 85,4 metres approx.) of yarn needed for this pattern.
- 4mm (US size G/6) crochet hook.
- Scissors.
- Yarn needle or Latch hook for weaving in ends. Or, you can use a crochet hook.
Abbreviations (US terms):
st. - stitch
ch - chain
sl st. - slip stitch
sc - single crochet
dc - double crochet
()* - repeat the instructions between the brackets the number of times indicated.
Instructions
Start with ch5 and join with a sl st. into the first ch to form a ring.
Round 1: ch3
(counts as a dc), 15dc into the ring.
Join with a sl st. on top of
the ch3.
Round 2: ch3
(counts as a first dc), ch1,
(1dc into next st., ch1)* repeat 15 times around.
Join with a sl st. on top of
the ch3.
Round 3: sl st. into ch1 space, ch3 (counts as a first dc), 1dc into that same ch1 space, ch1,
(2dc into next ch1 space, ch1)* repeat 15 times around.
Join with a sl st. on top of
the ch3.
Round 4: sl st. into next st., sl st. into ch1 space,
ch3 (counts as a first dc), 1dc into that same ch1 space, ch2,
(2dc into next ch1 space, ch2)* repeat 15 times around.
Join with a sl st. on top of
the ch3.
Round 5: sl st. into next st., sl st. into ch2 space,
ch3 (counts as a first dc), 2dc into that same ch2 space, ch2,
(3dc into next ch2 space, ch2)* repeat 15 times around.
Join with a sl st. on top of
the ch3.
Round 6: sl
st. into next 2 sts., sl st. into ch2 space, ch3 (counts as a first dc),
2dc into that same ch2 space, ch3,
(3dc into next ch2 space, ch3)* repeat 15 times around.
Join with a sl st. on top of
the ch3.
Round 7: ch3
(counts as a first dc), 1dc into next 2 sts, 3dc into ch3 space,
(1dc into next 3 sts., 3dc into ch3 space)* repeat 15 times around.
Join with a sl st. on top of
the ch3.
Round 8: ch3 (counts as a first dc), 1dc into each st. around.
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.
Round 9:
ch1, 1sc into the base of that ch1, ch5,
(skip 3 sts., 1sc into next st., ch5)* repeat 23 times around.
Join with a sl st. into the
first sc.
Round 10: sl st. into ch5 space, ch3 (counts as a first dc), (2dc, ch2, 3dc) into that same ch5 space,
((3dc, ch2, 3dc) into next ch5 space)* repeat 23 times around.
Join with a sl st. on top of
the ch3.
Round 11:
ch1, 1sc between the first st. (ch3) and the last st. (dc) of the
previous round,
ch1, (1dc, ch2)* repeat 4
times into ch2 space, 1dc into that same ch2 space, ch1,
(1sc between 3rd and 4th
st., ch1, (1dc, ch2)* repeat 4 times into next ch2 space,1dc into that same ch2
space, ch1)* repeat 23
times around.
Join with a sl st. into the
first sc.
Ch1, cut off the yarn, fasten
off and weave in the ends.
