I have a lovely Simple Doily crochet pattern for you today.
It's suitable for beginners who are familiar with the basic stitches. All you need to start is a crochet hook and some yarn or thread in the color of your choice.

Size: The doily measures approximately 24 cm (9.5 inches) in diameter.

Materials Used:
- Sport weight mercerized cotton yarn, size 2 - fine. I used Madame Tricote Paris Camilla yarn in the colorway 5326 (grey). 22 grams of yarn needed for this pattern.
- 3mm crochet hook.
- Scissors.
- Yarn needle or Latch hook for weaving in ends. Or, you can use a crochet hook.
st. - stitch
ch - chain
sl st. - slip stitch
sc - single crochet
hdc - half double crochet
dc - double crochet
trc - treble crochet
dc2(3)tog - 2 or 3 double crochet closed together
()*- repeat the instructions between the brackets the number of times indicated.
Instructions:
Start with ch5, join with a sl st. into first ch to form a ring.
Round 1: ch3 (counts as a dc), 15dc into the ring.
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.
Round 2: ch3 (counts as a dc), ch1,
(1dc into next st., ch1)* repeat 15 times around.
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.
Round 3: sl st. into next ch1 space, ch3 (counts as a dc), 2dc into that same ch1 space,
(3dc into next ch1 space)* repeat 15 times around.
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.
Round 4: ch3 (counts as a dc), ch2,
(skip 1 st., 1dc into next st., ch2)* repeat 23 times around.
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.
Round 5: sl st. into next ch2 space, ch3 (counts as a dc), 2dc into that same
ch2 space,
(3dc into next ch2 space)* repeat 23 times around.
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.
Round 6: ch3 (counts as a dc), dc2tog over next 2 sts,
(ch5, dc3tog over next 3 sts)* repeat 23 times around.
Join with ch2 + 1dc on top of the dc2tog.
Round 7: ch1, 1sc into that (ch2 + 1dc) space of the previous round,
(ch6, 1sc into next ch5 space)* repeat 23 times around.
Join with ch2 + 1trc into first sc.
Round 8: ch1, 1sc into that (ch2 + 1trc) space of the previous round,
(ch7, 1sc into next ch6 space)* repeat 23 times around.
Join with ch3 + 1trc into first sc.
Round 9: ch1, 1sc into that (ch3 + 1trc) space of the previous round,
(ch8, 1sc into next ch7 space)* repeat 23 times around.
Join with ch3 + 1trc into first sc.
Round 10: ch1, 1sc into that (ch3 + 1trc) space of the previous round, ch9,
(1sc into next ch8 space, ch9)* repeat 23 times around.
Join with a sl st. into first sc.
Round 11: sl st. into next ch9 space, ch1, (2sc, 5hdc, 2sc) into that same ch9 space,
((2sc, 5hdc, 2sc) into next ch9 space)* repeat 23 times around.
Join with a sl st. into first sc.
Ch1, cut off the yarn, fasten off and weave in the ends.
