Simple Table Runner - Free Crochet Pattern




Hello Everyone! πŸ™‚
Today I have a Simple Table Runner crochet pattern to share with you. The pattern uses basic crochet stitches and is worked in rows (back and forth). All you need to start is a crochet hook and some yarn or thread in the color of your choice.
I used the Alize Bella Ombre Batik 100% cotton yarn which gradually changes color and goes from dark to light.

Written Pattern

Size: The table runner measures approx. 31 cm x 71 cm (12.2'' x 28'')
You can adjust the length of the table runner by adding or subtracting pattern repeats.
1 pattern repeat - approx 11cm (4.3in). I made 6 pattern repeats.
You can adjust the width of the table runner by adding or subtracting stitches in a multiple of 3.

Skill Level: Easy

Materials Used:

  • Fingering weight yarn, size 1 - super fineI used Alize Bella Ombre Batik 100% cotton yarn in the colorway 7410. 96 grams ( 346 meters approx.) of yarn needed for this pattern.
  • 3mm crochet hook.
  • Scissors.
  • Yarn needle or Latch hook for weaving in ends. Or, you can use a crochet hook.


  • Abbreviations (US terms):

    st./sts - stitch / stitches
    ch - chain
    dc - double crochet
    dc2tog - 2 double crochet closed together
    dc3tog - 3 double crochet closed together

    ( )* – repeat the instructions between the brackets the number of times indicated.



    Instructions

    • Ch3 at the beginning of the row counts as a double crochet stitch.
    • Ch2 at the beginning of the row doesn't count as a stitch.

    Foundation chain: Ch72 (multiples of 3).

    Row 1 (right side): 1dc into 4th ch from hook and into each ch st. across. 
    (70 dc sts., including ch3 at the beginning of the row)

    Row 2 (wrong side): ch2, turn, 1dc into first dc st., ch2,
    (skip next 2 dc sts, dc3tog into next dc st., ch2)* repeat 22 times across.
    Skip next 2 dc sts, dc2tog into last st. (into the top of turning ch3).

    Row 3: ch3, turn, 2dc into next ch2 space,
    (1dc into next dc3tog st., 2dc into next ch2 space)* repeat 22 times across.
    1dc into last dc st. (70 dc sts)

    Row 4: repeat Row 2

    Row 5: repeat Row 3

    Row 6: ch3, turn, 1dc into first dc st., 
    (skip next 2 dc sts, (1dc, ch1, 1dc) into next dc st.)* repeat 22 times across.
    Skip next 2 dc sts, 2dc into last st. (into the top of turning ch3).

    Row 7: ch3, turn, 1dc into first dc st., 
    (skip next 2 dc sts, (1dc, ch1, 1dc) into next ch1 space)* repeat 22 times across.
    Skip next 2 dc sts, 2dc into last st. (into the top of turning ch3)


    Row 8 - 12: repeat Row 7.

    Row 13: ch3, turn, skip first dc st., 1dc into next 2 dc sts,
    (1dc into next ch1 space, 1dc into next 2 dc sts)* repeat 22 times across.
    1dc into last st. (into top of the turning ch3).

    Row 14: ch2, turn, 1dc into first dc st., ch2,
    (skip next 2 dc sts, dc3tog into next dc st., ch2)* repeat 22 times across.
    Skip next 2 dc sts, dc2tog into last st. (into the top of turning ch3).

    Row 15: ch3, turn, 2dc into next ch2 space,
    (1dc into next dc3tog st., 2dc into next ch2 space)* repeat 22 times across.
    1dc into last dc st. (70 dc sts)



    Repeat Rows 6 - 15 5 more times until you finish Row 65. Or, until you reach the desired length.


    Row 66: repeat Row 14.

    Row 67: repeat Row 15.

    Ch1, cut off the yarn, fasten off and weave in the ends.

    Crochet Striped V - Neck Sweater Pattern XS - 3XL


    Hi Everyone!πŸ˜‰
    Today I am really excited to share with you my very first crochet sweater design. It's the lightweight Striped V - Neck Sweater with 3/4 sleeves. It also has an eye catching scallop edging around sleeve cuffs and hemline.
    I used one of my absolute favorites cotton and premium acrylic blend DK weigt yarn Nako Calico in 2 colors - coral red (Red Sea Bream) and off white (Ecru).
    The pattern uses basic crochet stitches and works up rather quickly.

    Make sure to check your gauge before beginning!


    Materials Used:

    • DK weight yarn, size 3 - light. I used Nako Calico 50% cotton, 50% acrylic yarn - 100grams / 245meters (268 yards). 
           Color A - 11037 (Red Sea Bream), 
           Color B - 03278 (Ecru).
           
           For each size you will need approximately:

           XS:   Color A - 2 skeins (200g / 490m) 
                   Color B: 2 skeins (125g / 310m)

           S:     Color A - 3 skeins (225g / 555m) 
                   Color B - 2 skeins (130g / 320m)

           M:    Color A - 3 skeins (240g / 590m) 
                   Color B - 2 skeins (140g / 345m)

           L:     Color A - 3 skeins (280g / 690m) 
                   Color B - 2 skeins (150g / 370m)

           XL:   Color A - 4 skeins (315g / 775m) 
                   Color B - 2 skeins (160g / 395m)

    Pattern Notes:

    • The sweater is worked in 4 pieces - 2 body panels from the bottom up and 2 sleeve panels from the top down. All panels are sewn together at the end before working the hemline and sleeve cuff edging.

    • The pattern is worked in both rows (body panels and sleeves) and rounds (the hemline and sleeve edging).

    • Ch3 at the beginning of the row counts as a double crochet stitch.

    • The last double crochet stitch goes into the top of turning ch3.

    • Ch2 at the beginning of the row doesn't count as a stitch.

    • Ch1 at the beginning of the round doesn't count as a stitch.

    • The sweater is classic fit with some positive ease (approximately 5cm (2'') more than your actual bus measurment).

    ASSEMBLY

    Place the front and back panels together with the wrong sides facing out. 




    Sew along the top of the shoulders with a whip stitch.

    Mark the armholes on both front and back panels 13 (14, 14, 16, 16, 18, 18) rows from the top.

    Place the sleeves with the wrong sides up, sew them to the body with a whip stitch.


    Fold the sweater in half with the wrong side out and sew along the sides and underneath the sleeves with a whip stitch.




    Turn your sweater with the right side out.





    Hemline and Sleeve Edging

    Colors for the edging

    Color A: 3 rounds


    Now we are going to work the edging around the hemline and sleeve cuffs. The edging is worked in joined rounds (the end of the round is joined to the start with a slip stitch).


    The Hemline

    With the right side out, join the yarn at the seam on one side of the hemline.

    Round 1: ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), 2sc into same st., 1sc into next 56 (62, 68, 74, 80, 86, 92) sts, 2sc into next st., 1sc into remaining 56 (62, 68, 74, 80, 86, 92) sts. Join with a sl st. into first sc of the round. 116 [128, 140, 152, 164, 176, 188] sts. 

    Round 2: ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), 1sc into same st., ch3,
    (skip next st., 1sc into next st., ch3)* repeat around until you have 1 stitch left. Skip last st. Join with a sl st. into first sc of the round. 58 [64, 70, 76, 82, 88, 94] chain 3 spaces.

    Round 3: sl st. into next ch3 space, ch3 (counts as a dc), 5dc into same ch3 space, 1sc into next ch3 space,
    (6dc into next ch3 space, 1sc into next ch3 space)* repeat around. 
    Join with a sl st., into the top of first ch3 (into 3rd ch).



    The Sleeves

    With the right side out, join the yarn at the seam on one side of the sleeve cuff.

    Round 1: ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), 2sc into same st., 1sc into each st. around. 28 [28, 28, 32, 32, 36, 36] sts.

    Round 2: ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), 1sc into same st., ch3,
    (skip next st., 1sc into next st., ch3)* repeat around until you have 1 stitch left. Skip last st. Join with a sl st. into first sc of the round. 14 [14, 14, 16, 16, 18, 18] chain 3 spaces.

    Round 3: sl st. into next ch3 space, ch3 (counts as a dc), 5dc into same ch3 space, 1sc into next ch3 space,
    (6dc into next ch3 space, 1sc into next ch3 space)* repeat around. 
    Join with a sl st., into the top of first ch3 (into 3rd ch).

    Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch3.

    Round 15: sl st. into next dc st., sl st. into next ch3 space, ch4 (counts as a trc), 8trc into same ch3 space, skip next 2 dc sts, skip next ch1, 1sc into next dc st.,
    (skip next ch1, skip next 2 dc sts, 9trc into next ch3 space, skip next 2 dc sts, skip next ch1, 1sc into next dc st.)* repeat 25 times around.
    Join with a sl st. into 4th ch of beginning ch4.

    Ch1, cut off the yarn, fasten off and weave in the ends.
