Elegant Market Tote Bag - Crochet Pattern


Hello everyone!πŸ™‚

Today i am sharing my Elegant Market Tote Bag crochet pattern with you. Perfect for market, beach trips, day trips, etc. It's very easy to make - worked in joined rounds using basic stitches - chain, slip stitch, single crochet and half double crochet.
The handle straps are crocheted directly onto the body so the bag is one piece with no extra seaming.

Written Pattern:

Finished Size: Height without handles: 32 cm (12,6''), Width: 33 cm (13''), Depth: 9cm (3,5'').

Skill Level: Easy (advanced beginner)

Materials Used:

  • Worsted - Aran weight cord type yarn, size 4 - medium. I used YarnArt Macrame Cotton - (250 grams / 225 meters) - 80% Cotton, 20% Polyester. 2 skeins (approx 345 meters) needed for this pattern.
  • 5 mm (H) crochet hook.
  • Scissors.
  • Yarn needle or Latch hook for weaving / sewing in ends.
  • 4 stitch markers (optional)

Abbreviations (US terms):

st./sts - stitch / stitches
ch - chain
sl st. - slip stitch
sc - single crochet
hdc - half double crochet

( )* - repeat the instructions between the brackets the number of times indicated.






Instructions:

Foundation chain:
ch30 (multiple of 3)

Round 1: 3hdc into 2nd ch from hook, 1hdc into next 27 ch sts, 6hdc into last ch st., 1hdc into next 27 sts on the other side of foundation chain, 3hdc into last ch st.
Join with a sl st. into first hdc at the beginning of round.   (66 hdc sts)

Round 2: ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), 2hdc into same st., 2hdc into next 2 sts, 1hdc into next 27 sts, 2hdc into next 6 sts, 1hdc into next 27 sts, 2hdc into remaining 3 sts.
Join with a sl st. into first hdc at the beginning of round.   (78 hdc sts)

Round 3: ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), 2hdc into same st., 2hdc into next 2 sts, 1hdc into next 33 sts, 2hdc into next 6 sts, 1hdc into next 33 sts, 2hdc into remaining 3 sts.
Join with a sl st. into first hdc at the beginning of round.   (90 hdc sts)

Round 4 - 16: ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), 1hdc into same st., 1hdc into each st. around.
Join with a sl st. into first hdc at the beginning of round.   (90 hdc sts)




Round 17: ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), 1sc into same st., ch4,
(skip next 2 sts, 1sc into next st., ch4)* repeat 29 times around.
Join with a sl st. into first sc at the beginning of round. (30 1sc sts, 30 ch4)


Round 18: sl st. into next ch4 space, ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), 3hdc into same ch4 space,
(skip next st., 3hdc into next ch4 space)* repeat 29 times around.
Join with a sl st. into first hdc at the beginning of round.   (90 hdc sts)

Round 19: sl st. into next st., ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), 1sc into same st., ch4,
(skip next 2 sts, 1sc into next st., ch4)* repeat 29 times around.
Join with a sl st. into first sc at the beginning of round.   (30 1sc sts, 30 ch4) 

Round 20:  sl st. into next ch4 space, ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), 3hdc into same ch4 space,
(skip next st., 3hdc into next ch4 space)* repeat 29 times around.
Join with a sl st. into first hdc at the beginning of round.   (90 hdc sts)

Round 21 - 28: repeat Round 19 - 20.




Place stitch markers (optional)! 
Skip 14 sts, first stitch marker into 15th st.,
Skip 21 sts, second stitch marker into 22nd st.,
Skip 22 sts, third stitch marker into 23rd st.,
Skip 21 sts, fourth stitch marker into 22nd st.


Round 29: ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), 1hdc into same st., 1hdc into next 14 sts, ch70, skip next 21 sts, 1hdc into next 24 sts, ch70, skip next 21 sts, 1hdc into remaining 9 sts. 
Join with a sl st. into first hdc at the beginning of round. (48 hdc sts, 140 chains)

Round 30: ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), 1hdc into same st., 1hdc into each st., 1hdc into each ch around.
Join with a sl st. into first hdc at the beginning of round.   (188 hdc sts)

Round 31: ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), 1hdc into same st., 1hdc into each st. around.
Join with a sl st. into first hdc at the beginning of round.   (188 hdc sts)


Fasten off and weave in all ends using a yarn needle or a latch hook.

Crochet Lacy Tote Bag - Free Pattern

Today I am here to share my Lacy Tote Bag crochet pattern with you. It's worked from the bottom up.The handle straps are crocheted directly onto the body so the bag is one piece with no extra seaming.
This pattern is written for those with basic crochet knowledge.To make this tote bag, you should be familiar with basic crochet stitches and terminology. You should also know how to crochet in the round.
I used DK weight (size 3 - light) YarnArt Macrame cord type polyester yarn and a 3,5 mm (E4) crochet hook.

Materials Used:

  • DK weight cord type polyester yarn, size 3 - light. I used YarnArt Macrame - (90 grams / 130 meters) - 100% Polyester. 3 skeins (approx 270 grams, 390 meters) needed for this pattern. 
  • 3,5 mm  (E4) crochet hook.
  • Scissors.
  • Yarn needle.
  • 4 stitch markers (optional).
  • Measuring tape.

Abbreviations (US terms):

st./sts - stitch / stitches
ch - chain
sl st. - slip stitch
sc - single crochet
dc - double crochet

( )* - repeat the instructions between the brackets the number of times indicated.





Instructions:


Foundation chain: ch55 (multiple of 5)

Round 1: 2dc into 4th ch from hook, 1dc into next 50 ch sts, 5dc into last ch st., 1dc into next 50 ch sts on the other side of foundation chain, 2dc into last ch st. Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch3. 
(110 dc sts including ch3 at the beginning of round)

Round 2: ch3 (counts as 1dc), 1dc into same st., 2dc into next 2 sts, 1dc into next 50 sts, 2dc into next 5 sts, 1dc into next 50 sts, 2dc into remaining 2 sts. 
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch3. 
(120 dc sts)

Round 3: ch3 (counts as 1dc), 1dc into each st. around.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch3.  
(120 dc sts)

Round 4: ch6 (counts as 1dc + ch3), 1dc into same st., ch1,
(skip next 4 sts, (1dc, ch3, 1dc, ch1) into next st.)* repeat 23 times around.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch6.

Round 5: sl st. into next ch3 space, ch3 (counts as 1dc), (2dc, ch1, 3dc) into same ch3 space,
(skip next st., skip next ch1, skip next st., (3dc, ch1, 3dc) into next ch3 space)* repeat 23 times around.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch3.


Round 6: sl st. into next 2 sts, sl st. into next ch1 space, ch6 (counts as 1dc + ch3), 1dc into same ch1 space, ch1,
(skip next 6 sts, (1dc, ch3, 1dc, ch1) into next ch1 space)* repeat 23 times around.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch6.




Round 7 - 22: repeat Round 5 - 6.




Round 23: ch3 (counts as 1dc), 3dc into next ch3 space, 1dc into next st., 1dc into next ch1 space,
(1dc into next st., 3dc into next ch3 space, 1dc into next st., 1dc into next ch1 space)* repeat 23 times around.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch3.
(144 dc sts)


Round 24: ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), 1sc into same st., 1sc into next 23 sts, ch100, skip next 29 sts, 1sc into next 43 sts, ch100, skip next 29 sts, 1sc into remaining 19 sts.
Join with a sl st. into first sc.
(86 sc sts, 200 ch sts)

At this round you can also use stitch markers instead of counting stitches where the handle straps are going to be created. 
Finish Round 23 as directed, lay your bag on a flat surface and place stitch markers approx 10 cm from the sides of the bag (make sure that they are in the same place on both sides) and continue as follows:

ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), 1sc into same st., 1sc into each st. including the marked st. (first stitch marker),
ch100, 1sc into next marked st. (second stitch marker), 1sc into each st. including next marked st. (third stitch marker),
ch100, 1sc into next marked st. (fourth stitch marker), 1sc into each st. until the end of the round.
Join with a sl st. into first sc.





Round 25: ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), 1sc into same st., 1sc into each st., 1sc into each ch st. around. Join with a sl st. into first sc.
(286 sc sts)

Round 26: ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), 1sc into same st., 1sc into each st. around.
Join with a sl st. into first sc.
(286 sc sts)

Fasten off, sew / weave in all ends.

Simple Round Doily - Free Crochet Pattern

I have a Simple Round Doily crochet pattern for you today. It's suitable for beginners who are familiar with the basic stitches. All you need to start is a crochet hook and some yarn or thread in the color of your choice.

Written Pattern:

Size: The doily measures approximately 27 cm (10,6'') in diameter.

Skill Level: Easy.

Materials Used:
  • Sport weight yarn, size 2 - fine. I used Madame Tricote Paris Camilla mercerised cotton yarn. 30 grams ( 75 meters approx.) of yarn needed for this pattern.
  • 3mm crochet hook.
  • Scissors.
  • Yarn needle or Latch hook for weaving in ends. Or, you can use a crochet hook.

Abbreviations (US terms):

st./sts - stitch / stitches
ch - chain
sl st. - slip stitch
sc - single crochet
hdc - half double crochet
dc - double crochet
trc - treble crochet

( )*- repeat the instructions between the brackets the number of times indicated.



Instructions:

Start with ch5, join with a sl st. into first ch to form a ring. Or, you can make a magic (adjustable) loop.


Round 1: ch3 (counts as 1dc), 15dc into ring.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch3.  (16 sts)

Round 2: ch5 (counts as 1dc + ch2),
(1dc into next st., ch2)* repeat 15 times around.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch5.

Round 3: ch3 (counts as 1dc), 2dc into next ch2 space,
(1dc into next st., 2dc into next ch2 space)* repeat 15 times around.
Join with a sl st. into 3rd ch of beginning ch3.  (48 sts)

Round 4: ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), 1sc into same st., ch5, skip 3 sts, 1sc into next st.,

Join with ch1 + 1hdc into first sc.

Round 5: ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), 1sc into that same (ch1 + 1hdc) space of previous round, (6dc, ch1, 6dc) into next ch5 space,

Join with a sl st. into first sc.

Round 6: ch8 (counts as 1trc + ch4), 1trc into same st., ch4, skip 6 sts, 1sc into next ch1 space, ch4,
(skip 6 sts, (1trc, ch4, 1trc) into next st., ch4, skip 6 sts, 1sc into next ch1 space, ch4)* repeat 7 times around.
Join with a sl st. into 4th ch of beginning ch8.

Round 7: ch3 (counts as 1dc), 4dc into next ch4 space,

Round 10: ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), 1sc into that same (ch1 + 1dc) space of previous round,

Join with ch2 + 1dc into first sc.

Round 11: ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), 1sc into that same (ch2 + 1dc) space of previous round,

Round 12: ch1 (doesn't count as a st.), 1sc into that same (ch2 + 1dc) space of previous round,
