Romantic Doily Placemat is another crochet pattern i have been wanting to post on here for the longest time. I hope you will like it and find it easy to follow.

Size:
The doily measures approximately 25cm (9.8 inches) in diameter.
Skill Level:
Easy to Intermediate
Materials Used:
- Sport weight mercerized cotton yarn, size 2 - fine. I used Madame Tricote Paris Camilla yarn in the colorway 6312 (pink). 30 grams of yarn needed for this pattern.
- 3 mm crochet hook.
- Scissors.
- Yarn needle or Latch hook for weaving in ends. Or, you can use a crochet hook.
Abbreviations (US terms)
st. - stitch
ch - chain
sl st. - slip stitch
sc - single crochet
dc - double crochet
trc - treble crochet
V stitch – (1dc, ch1, 1dc) into the same stitch (space).
Ch3picot – ch3, insert the hook into the first ch, yarn over, pull through all loops on the hook.
()* - repeat the instructions between the brackets the number of times indicated.
Start with a magic (adjustable) ring; Or, ch5 and join with a sl st. into the first ch to form a ring.
Round 1: ch3 (counts as a dc), 15dc into the ring.
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.
Round 2: ch3 (counts as a dc), 1dc into the base of that same ch3, 2dc into each st. around.
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.
Round 3: ch3 (counts as a dc), 1dc into the base of that same ch3, 1dc into next st.,
(2dc into next st., 1dc into next st.)* repeat 15 times around.
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.
Round 4: ch3 (counts as a dc), 1dc into the base of that same ch3, 1dc into next 2 sts, (2dc into next st., 1dc into next 2 sts)* repeat 15 times around.
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.
Round 5: ch3 (counts as a dc), 1dc into the base of that same ch3, 1dc into next 3 sts,
(2dc into next st., 1dc into next 3 sts)* repeat 15 times around.
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.
Round 6: ch3 (counts as a dc), 1dc into the base of that same ch3, 1dc into next 4 sts,
(2dc into next stitch, 1dc into next 4 sts)* repeat 15 times around.
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.
Round 7: ch3 (counts as a dc), ch1,
(skip 1st., 1dc into the next st., ch1)* repeat 47 times around.
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.
Round 8: sl st. into next ch1 space, ch3 (counts as a dc), ch1, 1dc into that same ch1 space.
(V stitch (1dc, ch1, 1dc) into next ch1 space)* repeat 47 times around.
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.
Round 9: sl st. into next ch1 space, ch4 (counts as a trc), (ch1, 1trc)* repeat 6 times into that same ch1 space (V stitch), ch1, skip 1V stitch, 1sc into the next V stitch, ch1,
(skip 1V stitch, (1trc, ch1)* repeat 7 times into the next V stitch, skip 1V stitch, 1sc into the next V stitch, ch1)* repeat 11 times around.
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch4.
Round 10: ch3 (counts as a dc), ch1, ch3picot, ch1, (1dc into next st., ch1, ch3picot, ch1)* repeat 5 times, 1dc into next st.,
(skip next sc st., (1dc into next trc st., ch1, ch3picot, ch1)* repeat 6 times, 1dc into next st.)* repeat 11 times around.
Join with a sl st. on top of the ch3.
ch1, cut off the yarn, fasten off and weave in the ends.
